Temporarily. I’m doing some benchmarking work for some old games for a friend of mine. We like to play older FPS games, so I’m trying to put together instructions for him on how to configure the Quake and Unreal Tournament games to run 4k@144hz with updated textures - so I’m grabbing texture mods and trying out different engines.
The one that I’ve had the most trouble with is Duke Nukem 3d. For some reason, the retexture project under Polymer runs like dogshit on eDuke32 on my machine - even at 1080p on my normal 60hz monitor.
After having borrowed this monitor for a few days I’m absolutely ruined for 1080p and 60hz.
Edit: I have Quake 3 running - 45% typical/65% max GPU usage on my RTX 2060 KO on a five player bot match on Q3DM17 at 4K@144hz (with vsync off the engine is running at 165 hz on a max FPS setting of 144) with settings configured per the autoexec.cfg attached to this post with the latest 64-bit build from the ioquake3 git repo.
